INPress International – User-Generated Content (UGC) Policy

Last Updated: [03/01/2026] | Effective Date: [03/01/2026] | Applies to All UGC on the Site: Book Club Discussions, Book Reviews, Author Feedback, and Public Comments

This User-Generated Content (UGC) Policy governs all content you submit, post, or share on the INPress International Site (the “Site”)—including book club discussions, book reviews, author feedback, comments, and any other user-created content (collectively, “UGC”). By submitting UGC, you (“you”, “your”) agree to abide by this Policy, our Terms of Use, and our Privacy Policy. INPress International (“we”, “us”, “our”) reserves the right to moderate, remove, or reject any UGC at our sole discretion, without notice, for a violation of this Policy. We also reserve the right to modify this Policy at any time—changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last Updated” date.

3.1 What Constitutes UGC

For the purposes of this Policy, UGC includes all user-created content posted on the Site, including but not limited to:

  • Book club discussion comments and forum posts.

  • User-submitted book reviews (non-professional, member reviews).

  • Feedback for authors and INPress International services.

  • Comments on blog posts, author pages, and book pages.

  • Any other text, images, or media submitted by users to the Site.

3.2 UGC Submission Eligibility

  • You must be 18 years of age or older (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to submit UGC.

  • You must be the original creator of the UGC or have obtained the necessary explicit written consent from the copyright holder to submit the UGC.

  • You may not submit UGC on behalf of a third party without their explicit written consent.

3.3 UGC Content Guidelines (Prohibited Content)

You may not submit UGC that is illegal, harmful, offensive, or in violation of our Terms of Use/Privacy Policy. Prohibited UGC includes but is not limited to:

  1. Illegal/Unlawful Content: Content that violates any applicable law, including but not limited to copyright/trademark infringement, defamation, harassment, and incitement to violence.

  2. Infringing Content: Content that uses third-party intellectual property (text, images, music, videos) without explicit written consent from the copyright holder.

  3. Offensive/Hateful Content: Content that is racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or otherwise discriminatory; content that contains hate speech, slurs, or threats.

  4. Obscene/Adult Content: Content that is pornographic, sexually explicit, or contains graphic violence (excluding content relevant to literary works, which may be posted with appropriate warnings).

  5. Spam/Commercial Content: Unsolicited advertising, promotional content, affiliate links, or spam (e.g., “buy my book” posts without relevant context to the Site/ book club).

  6. Misleading/Fraudulent Content: Content that is false, misleading, or deceptive (e.g., fake book reviews, false claims about authors/books, or misrepresentation of INPress International services).

  7. Personal/Confidential Data: Content that discloses the personal information of third parties (e.g., full name, address, phone number, email) without their explicit consent.

  8. Abusive/Harassing Content: Content that harasses, bullies, or intimidates other users, authors, or INPress International team members.

  9. Non-Literary/Off-Topic Content: Content that is unrelated to the Site’s core focus (finance books, poetry, self-help, literary fiction, book club discussions, and publishing services).

3.4 UGC Attribution & Intellectual Property

  • You retain full copyright to your original UGC.

  • By submitting UGC to the Site, you grant INPress International a perpetual, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, distribute, display, and modify your UGC (for minor editorial purposes only) on the Site, our social media platforms, and our associated services (e.g., book club newsletters).

  • You may request the removal of your UGC at any time (via email to [contact@inpressinternational.com])—we will remove the UGC within 7 business days, subject to legal/contractual requirements.

  • INPress International may use your UGC for marketing purposes (e.g., “best book club reviews”) with proper attribution to you (your username/name, as provided).

3.5 UGC Moderation & Enforcement

  • We reserve the right to moderate all UGC—we may review, edit, remove, or reject any UGC at our sole discretion, without notice, for a violation of this Policy.

  • We use a combination of automated and human moderation to prevent spam/abuse and enforce this Policy—however, we do not guarantee that all prohibited UGC will be identified or removed.

  • We may suspend/terminate your account (book club, general user) for repeated or serious violations of this Policy (e.g., multiple spam posts, hate speech, copyright infringement)—with written notice, where applicable.

  • Users who believe their UGC was removed in error may appeal the decision by contacting our UGC Moderation Team at [contact@inpressinternational.com]—we will review the appeal and respond within 10 business days.

3.6 User Responsibility for UGC

  • You are solely responsible for the UGC you submit—you warrant that your UGC is original, does not violate any third-party rights, and complies with this Policy, our Terms of Use, and applicable law.

  • You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless INPress International from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or related to your UGC (e.g., copyright infringement claims from third parties).

  • We are not liable for any UGC submitted by users—we do not endorse or approve any UGC, and the views expressed in UGC are those of the submitting user, not INPress International.

3.7 Book Review-Specific UGC Guidelines

For user-submitted book reviews (non-professional), we add the following specific guidelines:

  • Reviews must be honest and objective—you may not submit a fake review (e.g., a positive review for a book you have not read, or a negative review to harass an author).

  • Reviews may critique the book’s content, writing style, and narrative—but may not personalize attacks on the author (e.g., personal insults, ad hominem attacks).

  • Reviews may include spoilers only with a clear, prominent spoiler warning at the start of the review.

  • We reserve the right to remove reviews that are overly vague (e.g., “great book”) or do not provide meaningful feedback (no substantive commentary).
