INPress International – Our Founding Story

A Pandemic Pivot to Curate Diverse Voices in Finance, Poetry & Self-Help

In the quiet uncertainty of 2020, the world paused. Bookstores shuttered, literary festivals were canceled, and the timeless community of readers and writers felt more fractured than ever. Yet, in that stillness, a question grew louder: What happens to stories when the world stands still? We refused to let them be silenced.

INPress International was born from that defiant hope—founded in 2021 in Hong Kong during the global COVID-19 pandemic, by a small team of publishing veterans with 25+ combined years of expertise in literary curation, finance content creation, digital book marketing, and global distribution. We connected over shaky Zoom calls not just as colleagues, but as concerned book lovers who saw a publishing system under strain and authors feeling more isolated than ever. The "gap in the market" wasn't just commercial; it was emotional.

We asked a different question: Could we build a publishing house that wasn't just a business, but a community? One that was agile enough to thrive in a new era and steadfast enough to be a true partner to authors when they needed it most? In the isolation of the pandemic, we saw two critical gaps that became the backbone of our mission: readers craved accessible finance guidance to navigate unprecedented economic uncertainty, poetry and self-help for emotional resilience and connection, and authentic stories that reflected the chaos and hope of the moment. Authors, meanwhile, needed a publisher that rejected rigid traditional rules—one that was digital-native, transparent, and focused on their creative vision above all else.

This dual need shaped our founding principle, and our rallying cry to this day: to be relentlessly author-centric. We chose our name, INPress International, as a declaration of this ambition. "INPress" signifies our deep, collaborative work with authors to bring their vision to life on the page—side by side, at every step of the publishing journey. "International" reflects our conviction from day one: that profound stories, actionable knowledge, and heartfelt verse know no borders. We are dedicated to elevating diverse, powerful voices onto a global stage, curating work that transcends genres and connects readers across the world.

Our Founding Promise

Born from uncertainty, we built INPress on three non-negotiable promises that guide every book we publish—promises forged in the challenges of the pandemic and rooted in our belief that publishing should be human, honest, and purposeful:

  1. Author-Centric Partnership: No one knows a story like its author. We work with you, not against you—offering personalized editorial support, fair terms, and a team that advocates for your work as if it were our own.

  2. Curated Quality: We publish fewer books, but every one is rigorously edited, thoughtfully designed, and delivers genuine value—whether educational (finance), emotional (poetry), empowering (self-help), or imaginative (our upcoming literary fiction novels).

  3. Digital-Native Access: Books should reach readers wherever they are. We leverage cutting-edge digital marketing, direct-to-reader engagement, and global distribution (print, ebook, audiobook) to ensure no great story is left unread.

These promises are not just buzzwords; they were our necessity—and they shape every decision we make as a publisher, from manuscript acquisition to global distribution. Our editorial team—with decades of specialized experience in finance, poetry, and self-help publishing—upholds this founding promise every day Meet Our Editorial Team.

That initial spirit—forged in challenge, focused on connection—remains our compass. From our first poetry collection to our latest actionable finance guide, our authors and their work have been featured in AP News and in ERA-zine (era-zine.com)—our sister literary magazine and a hub for contemporary verse, cultural storytelling, and diverse literary voices—amplifying the stories we believe in to even wider audiences.

Since our pandemic founding, we’ve published dozens of award-worthy poetry collections, practical finance guides for everyday readers, and empowering self-help books—reaching readers in 20+ countries across North America, Asia, Europe, and beyond, and partnering with emerging and established authors who share our vision for meaningful, diverse storytelling. In 2026, we’re proud to expand our catalog with our highly anticipated first list of literary fiction novels—fulfilling our founding vision to curate diverse voices across every genre that matters, and growing the community we first dreamed of in those early Zoom calls.

Every book we publish is a testament to the belief that started it all: even when the world changes, our need for meaningful stories, accessible knowledge, and genuine connection endures. We are more than just publishers; we are curators of compelling narratives, amplifiers of important ideas, and builders of a global literary community—one book, one voice, one reader at a time.

We are INPress International. Our story begins with yours.
